01 — Does your exact phone work?
Check the phone model, supported operating system and connection type. For USB, confirm data support. For NFC, look for backup limitations as well as basic scanning. Start with manufacturer documentation, not a connector’s appearance.
02 — Can you complete setup and backup?
Look for instructions that begin with a new device and end with a completed backup. If the guide switches to a computer halfway through, find out whether there is an official mobile alternative. Do not assume everyday mobile access proves mobile setup.
03 — Can you review and sign?
Receiving an address or viewing a balance does not prove you can approve an outgoing transaction. Also understand where transaction details are displayed: on a separate device screen or on the phone. Check support for the specific assets and networks you plan to use.
04 — What happens at the next update?
Check firmware requirements, including any minimum version needed for wireless updates. App updates and device firmware updates are different. Our comparison highlights known maintenance conditions rather than collapsing them into one yes/no badge.
05 — What would recovery require?
Understand the chosen backup method and the replacement hardware you would need. A spare card, a recovery phrase and a multi-share backup are different systems with different dependencies. Follow the manufacturer’s guide. Never submit a recovery phrase or private key to a comparison website.
CryptoBedrock does not ask you to connect a wallet or provide a recovery phrase. Use the finder to organise your options, then verify the final choice with the official sources.
